LIT 100 — Akhlaq Hamalatul Quran

Prerequisites: None


Duration: 2 contact hours per day, 6 days.
This 6-day course is a reading and discussion session of the book Akhlaaq Hamlatul Quran, written in Arabic by the well-known Islamic scholar Imam Abū Bakr al-Ājurrī. Students will be given live explanations of the book during the course, along with brief commentary. The book stresses that true engagement with the Quran goes beyond mere recitation; it requires sincerity, humility, and piety. Our short course focuses on implementing these teachings to help students of the Quran develop strong ethics and communication skills as practicing Muslimahs.

MUT 101 — Qaṣīdah al-Khāqāniyyah

Prerequisites: None

Duration: 2 contact hours per day, 12 days.
This course covers Qaṣīdah Khāqāniyyah, the first and oldest text in Tajwīd, named after its author Abū Mazāḥim al-Khāqānī. It is a foundational course, offering students insight into the science as understood by its early scholars. The course explores the historical context of Tajwīd, its codification, and the evolution of its principles over time. While not focused on specific rules, students will learn how past scholars viewed Tajwīd and its significance.

MUT 103 — Al-Salsabeel Al-Shafi

Prerequisites: MUT 102 or equivalent


Duration: 1.5 contact hours per day, 10 months.
This is an advanced ijazah course in Tajwīd, designed specifically for students who have previously completed studies in Al-Tuhfah or Al-Jazariyyah. The course offers an in-depth exploration of advanced Tajwīd concepts, with a focus on refining recitation techniques and covering additional topics for a more comprehensive understanding of Qur'anic phonetics and articulation.

TAJ 101 — Nada ul Quloob (The Dew of the Hearts)

Prerequisites: None

Duration: 2.5 contact hours per day, 6 days.
Nada al Quloob, The Dew of the Hearts, is the beginner’s level, basic Tajwīd course for sisters that gives them droplets of knowledge, aiming to help them fulfill their obligation of reciting the Qur’an properly, without necessarily knowing all the theoretical aspects of the recitation rules.

TAJ 201 — Gayth ul Quloob (The Blessed Rain of Hearts)

Prerequisites: TAJ 101

Duration: 2 contact hours per week, 6 months.
Ghayth al Quloob, The Blessed Rain of the Hearts, is an intermediate-level course in which students gain detailed knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of Tajwīd. The course will cover 60% of the rule with the rewayah of Imam Hafs An A’asim.
